How to get to Capileira
By air
The nearest airport is Federico García Lorca Granada-Jaén Airport, approximately 85 kilometres from Capileira. It offers domestic flights and selected international services.
Many visitors also arrive through Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport, which provides extensive international connections. The drive from Málaga takes approximately two and a half hours.
By train
The closest railway station is Granada, served by Spain’s high-speed AVE network with direct services to Madrid, Córdoba, Seville and several other major cities.
By car
Hiring a car is the easiest way to reach Capileira and explore the surrounding Alpujarras villages. From Granada, follow the A-44 south before joining the A-348 through Lanjarón. Continue along the scenic mountain road to Capileira. Although the route includes many bends, the roads are well maintained and the views are outstanding.

By bus
Regular bus services connect Granada with Capileira via Lanjarón, Pampaneira and Bubión. The journey is comfortable and affordable, although departures are limited, particularly outside the summer season. Checking the timetable before travelling is recommended.
